Breakfast!
Sunday to close our Memorial weekend in Moses Lake some of us met up at this great little tavern for breakfast. We had great laughs and recapped our weekend together. Being on my prepageant diet I had to op out of the delicious hash browns, but my omelet was fabulous! To top it off, the girls let it out that it was my birthday and all had a bite of some major chocolate cake... I know where I'll be heading after the pageant... to get the rest of that cake!!! Yummmm
Memorial Day Parade
So this year we all walked the Memorial Day parade... My shoes were cute, but not practical (what was I thinking?) Aside from that, handing out bag fulls of candy to the little children was so fun.. and we got in a good work out! The weather held out for us and I stayed bug bite free. We met some great people in our line up and ooo'd over some quite pretty dressed of other royalty in the parade. This is one of my favorite activities in the pageant.

Ampitheater 70's dance
Like last year, Memorial Day weekend in Moses Lake we perform. This year we danced out booty off to a medley of 70's tunes, even though the wrong version played, we made it look like we know what we were all doing, well, at least that's what I would like to think! The rain started to fall again once we were done with our performance. The crowd was amazing this year and the little kids LOVED the teddy bears we threw into the audience! It was a blast!
Food Bank
I love the accomplished feeling of service. This past weekend a few Queens and the director Pam spent several hours at the Moses Lake food bank. Together we bagged 2 huge bins of potatoes and onions and several pallets of canned/boxed foods. Not only was this a rewarding time, it was also fun! I am so grateful that communities can come together for people in need and gather as one.

Mothers Day Firemens Car Wash
May 8Th I attended the Camano Island Fireman's Car Wash held at the plaza parking lot. We totally lucked out with the weather, it was the perfect day to stand and collect money for such a great group of people. I was the lucky gal who held the 'boot' as the many cars drove thru donating to our local men and women. I've got to tell you, the boot was quite full at the end of the day. I'd like to thank Robert Boyd for thinking of me and asking me to participate.

A Bit More About Me
I'm your typical everyday gal. I'm married to Brian who has been amazingly supportive in all my ideas and spontaneous activities. The thing I love best about Brian is that he lets me be goofy, nerdy, silly, serious and cranky and loves me just the same. I have 3 adorable children who I treasure more then life it's self. I never imagined that the love that fills my heart could be so pure and strong! The bonds of motherhood are truly eternal. I have been a hairstylist for over 18 years and absolutely love it! I work only 2 days a week now (thank goodness)so that I can dedicate more time at home with my family and obligations that take me outside the home. Balance is key, especially with having younger kids, a marriage, career, friendships, and service projects. I also mentor youth young women in the church I attend and I've got to tell you, that is one of the best and most rewarding time I've spent outside of my family. I love these girls I get to work with and seeing how they grow and excel both personally and spiritually is quite a sight. I play several instruments, my favorite being the cello. I've been working on a piece and hope to grab the courage to play in front of an audience soon.. we'll see on that though...I love to read and google random odd things. I recently learned a lot about bumble bees and octopus.. very interesting and fascinating creatures!
